FreeAmp is a modular media player designed
to be easily extensible to new media types, sources, and
destinations.
FreeAmp achieves this by abstracting the major pieces
of functionality into a plug-in architecture.
FreeAmp now supports Shoutcast, HTTP, and RTP streaming,
and also logging for debugging and bug reporting. FreeAmp
is distributed under the GNU GPL.
Version 2.0.8 is the latest stable release version. It
features support for the Enlightened Sound Daemon and
additional ncurses and command-line user interfaces.
